Credentials matter when you choose a Destination Management Company for your event in Spain. At Crossover Events, we are proud to be a SpainDMCs member. SpainDMCs is the official association of Spain’s most prestigious Destination Management Companies. In fact, membership is not simply a badge. It is a commitment to the highest standards of professionalism, expertise, and client care in the MICE industry.
What Is SpainDMCs? The Association Behind Professional DMCs in Spain
SpainDMCs is the official non-profit association of Spain’s leading Destination Management Companies. It was founded on 21 November 2000 with 13 founding member companies. Today, the association brings together 45 vetted DMC companies. Together, those companies deliver more than 4,000 successful events every year. They are also supported by a network of over 300 preferred suppliers across the country.
The association focuses on the MICE segment: Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events. In practice, its members are the companies that international clients turn to when they need exceptional, locally rooted experiences in Spain. Every operator, therefore, joins after rigorous evaluation.

Membership Requires More Than a Good Portfolio

Not every event agency can join SpainDMCs. Moreover, membership is earned. Moreover, the criteria are deliberately demanding. To qualify, a company must meet all of the following:
- Operate as a legally constituted Destination Management Company for a minimum of three years, with a proven track record in receptive services for international clients.
- Carry professional liability insurance of at least 350,000 euros.
- Secure written recommendations from two current SpainDMCs members, two of its own clients, and two suppliers in the Spanish MICE market.
- Pass a review by the association’s governing body, and pay the entrance fee and annual dues set by the General Assembly.
As a result, every SpainDMCs member is a genuine DMC specialist. None of them are generalist travel agencies or temporary operators. To understand the wider difference between a DMC and a standard event agency, read our guide on what a DMC is and how it works.
What SpainDMCs Does for Its Members

SpainDMCs does far more than vet its members. The association actively works to raise the quality of destination management services across Spain. It pursues several core goals that benefit both its member companies and, ultimately, their clients.
Setting and Upholding Standards
The association requires all members to maintain financial stability and professional operations. As a result, every programme carries consistent reliability. Therefore, when you work with a SpainDMCs member, that company is accountable to you and to the industry body at the same time.
Sharing Expertise and Innovation
Furthermore, members meet regularly to exchange knowledge on global trends in incentive travel, conventions, and corporate events. That collective intelligence flows directly into the programmes we build for clients. In turn, it keeps experiences fresh and commercially competitive.
Representing the Sector
SpainDMCs speaks for its members in conversations with public authorities, tourism bodies, and strategic partners. In turn, this advocacy shapes the regulatory and commercial environment for Spanish DMCs. Consequently, both operators and their clients benefit from a more stable, professional market.
Fighting Unfair Competition
One of the association’s core commitments is to challenge unprofessional market entrants. Specifically, it targets operators who undercut established DMCs without the experience, insurance, or local knowledge to deliver reliably. Ultimately, this protects clients from working with unqualified providers on high-stakes events.
Providing Access to Preferred Suppliers
SpainDMCs has built a network of more than 300 preferred suppliers. That network covers venues, catering, transport, and entertainment. Members access negotiated terms and verified quality through established relationships. Consequently, clients benefit from better value and smoother execution on every programme. It is one clear reason why working with a SpainDMCs member on your team building or incentive programme gives you a practical operational advantage.
What It Means to Work with Crossover Events, a Proud SpainDMCs Member

Therefore, choosing Crossover Events means choosing a company that has met one of the most demanding sets of membership criteria in the Spanish MICE market. In practical terms, our SpainDMCs membership gives you:
- Verified professional credibility. Our membership was earned through peer recommendation and a formal assessment. It is not self-declared.
- Accountability to an independent body. We operate within a framework that monitors standards and advocates for professional conduct in the market.
- Access to a superior supplier network. We source venues, transport, activities, and catering through SpainDMCs preferred partnerships. Independent operators do not have the same access.
- Ongoing learning and innovation. As an active member, we attend the association’s training and conventions. As a result, our team stays current with the latest thinking in destination management, sustainability, and delegate experience.
- Financial protection. Our insurance coverage and financial standing requirements are independently verified by the association, not just stated by us.
Ultimately, these are not abstract advantages. They are the foundation of the confident, worry-free event experiences that Crossover clients rely on. To find out more, get in touch with our team.
A Standard of Trust in the Global MICE Industry

Our SpainDMCs membership sits alongside other international accreditations. Crossover Events also holds memberships with the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) and the Association of Destination Management Executives International (ADMEI). Together, these affiliations demonstrate the consistent standards we apply to every project.
Spain ranks consistently among Europe’s top meetings and incentive destinations. However, not every operator in the market works to the same standard. Choosing a DMC that belongs to Spain’s own industry association is one of the clearest ways to protect your investment. It guarantees genuine local expertise, vetted supplier relationships, and a professional framework that independent operators cannot match.
